Introducing the new Focal Aria 948 on wall Home Theater package that sounds as good as it looks.

Focal Speakers has updated their popular Aria series with the new 948, and after driving them for a week we can confidently say that these speakers absolutely live up to our ample expectations. The versatility of these speakers helps them find a home in both traditional stereo setups and in 5+1 Home Theater systems with ease. We have been really impressed by how well they handle vocals, instrumentals, bass, and even dialogue across a wide range of different genres.

These Focal Speakers Home Theater really does sound great. This design allows us to drive these speakers very low in the frequency range, which puts them on an equal playing field with many of the other 8″ bass radiators that are out there. 8Hz is around 105Hz in our reference frequency response, so this was some tricky territory for us to artificially tune for.

The overall design of the 948 features a satin-brushed aluminum finish with a somewhat distinctive appearance that sets it apart from other home theater speakers in its price range.

We have to admit that we were initially a bit skeptical about the wood finish for various reasons that make us question how durable or solid these speakers are, but after driving them for the past week we can say that the wood actually does seem quite strong and sturdy, especially when compared to other materials used in this price range.

One of our favorite things about this speaker is its use of aluminum as an important feature throughout the product design. Especially in a loudspeaker, this gives it a sleek and stylish look, while maintaining a very clean and simple aesthetic across all angles.
